Government agencies have staff who will answer questions from the public
about employment discrimination law.
These agencies are a good source of information about the laws that they
administer. Their staff are busy, so you may have to continue to call
until you reach someone who will answer your questions. They usually have
an officer of the day, or attorney of the day, who responds to telephone
inquiries.
Most of the government fair employment practices agencies now have
good websites that contain contact and other useful information. These
websites are accessible
through the links on other pages of this website.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission can be contacted by calling
1-800-669-4000, which will connect you to the EEOC office nearest to you.
