The lead non-discrimination agency in California enforces the California
Fair Employment and Housing Act, and other laws, which prohibit discrimination due to
age, national origin, race, color, creed, disability, marital status, medical condition,
sex and sexual orientation. This agency also administers the California
Family Rights Act which establishes rights for leaves of absence due to health conditions.
Provides a variety of services to the public, from wage claim
adjudication and discrimination complaint investigations to enforcement
of California's labor laws and Industrial Welfare Commission orders.
Provides services under the Job Service, Unemployment Insurance
and Disability Insurance programs.
