Enforces Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in
Employment Act, Titles I and V the Americans With Disabilities Act, and
the Equal Pay Act.
Enforces various laws that prohibit discrimination in employment, education,

federally funded and programs.

Facilitates the communication, coordination and promotion of public
and private efforts to enhance the employment of people with disabilities.
Provides information about the Americans With Disabilities Act, including
regulations, technical assistance, and accessibility guidelines.
Hears and decides employee appeals of personnel actions taken by federal
agencies, including appeals involving discrimination and reprisal for whistleblowing.
Enforces the National Labor Relations Act, which prohibits unfair labor
practices by employers or unions, and provides for elections at which employees
decide if they wish to be represented by unions.
Administers the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended by the Immigration
and Reform Act of 1986, which prohibits employment discrimination because
of national origin, or citizenship status, against U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals,
and aliens with work authorization.
